Cherry Blossom Wood
Part of No Limits Festival
Norden Farm Centre for The Art

The biggest challenge of this project was to transform a beautiful long barn of the 18th century into a suggestive Pagoda tree-house placed in the middle of a cherry blossom wood.

The technical stuff at the Norden Farm was simply amazing, they put together the structure of the tree-house in no time and made all the other elements necessary for my design.

The main issue was to source a bulk quantity of cherry blossoms, after a long research,10.000 beautiful flowers came all the way from China.

But how to make the wood? Driven by the Japanese theme going on, I bought 25 paper parasol, the paper was ripped and cherry blossoms where carefully glued onto the bamboo sticks. After endlessly hours of ripping and gluing, I had my magic forest.

And least but not last, over 500 pieces of haiku poetry created by local primary school children where also hung in the barn.
